Avon Way House’s 6 bed apartments are ideal for students seeking new connections, or for moving in with friends. Bedrooms are well furnished, and come with a 4-foot double double bed, storage space for clothes and other items, and a study with a desk and chair included.

The apartment has a shared kitchen/dining space available to all tenants. This space comes with a fridge freezer, cooktop and oven. You’ll also find a shared living space with a 32-inch tv and a sofa.

Students staying in 6-bed apartments will share a bathroom and a toilet with their roommates.

Free and Unlimited Glide WiFi is available throughout Avon Way House, with the option to upgrade if desired.

Facilities

The Student Hub is available to all students staying at Avon Way House, and is the perfect place to relax, eat, and make new friends.

Social and eating spaces

Unwind in the cinema room, games room or pool room in the Student Hub, all of which are available to our tenants at any time. When using the cinema room or pool room, please be sure to use the Facility Bookings page so you don’t overlap with anyone else using the room.

Study spaces

The Student Hub offers plenty of options for studying too. Quiet spaces are available as well as group spaces. You can also book out the Meeting Room through the Facility Bookings page to practise presentations and complete other group work.

Exercise spaces

The student hub also features a gym/studio space available to all tenants who have booked through the Facility Bookings page. This space is perfect for working, practising and performing, and arranging exercise classes.

On-site staff and security

Utilise the knowledge of on-site hospitality and maintenance staff as and when you need. The staff at Avon Way House are there to make your stay as carefree  as possible, so be sure to pay them a visit if there’s anything you need.

Please be aware that there are security cameras across the Avon Way Grounds. This is to ensure the safety and security of all staff and students on the site.

On-site laundry facilities

Cashless washing machines are available on the Avon Way grounds. Simply scan the QR code on the machine to pay for your washing.

Communal garden areas

Unwind in the landscaped garden, designed to help you study and relax in peace and tranquillity.

Parking and bike racks

First-come, first-served parking is available at Avon Way House. Make sure to arrive early to grab your parking spot.

If you are bringing a bike, the bike racks are free, secure, and available to all tenants.

Transport links and travelling

Enjoy easy access to a range of amenities like supermarkets, restaurants and the University of Essex campus.

Walking to the campus is a straightforward 15 minute walk. If you’re cycling, you can expect to reach the campus in only 5 minutes.

If you wish to take the bus into Colchester central, there is a bus stop directly outside of Avon Way House. Take the S4, S4a and No.1 buses to reach your destination.

FAQs

Are bills included in the cost of renting?

Students staying at Avon Way House will be asked to make a single payment of £195, which will cover their utility bills for the duration of their contract. This is a great way to ensure that the rising costs of electricity and gas don’t affect your finances.

What if there are no Standard 6 bedroom apartments available?

Rooms at Avon Way House are in high demand, and you may find that a standard 6 bedroom apartment room isn’t available for you or your friends. In this case, consider looking into our Classic 6-bed apartments, or our Standard and Classic 5-bed apartments

What if I don’t want to share a living space?

We cater for everyone’s needs, so if you don’t wish to share a living space, we have Studio Apartments available with a built-in kitchenette and en-suite in each. Some offer great views of the countryside and a large living space too.

Is my accommodation information available for viewing?
