A contract for the acquisition of the Freehold was exchanged in January 2007. A detailed planning application was drawn up with MAKE architects and successfully negotiated with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and the GLA.
A resolution to grant planning permission with a S106 was obtained in August 2009.
The scheme consists of 414 residential units in 2 towers of 30 and 36 storeys above a crèche, gymnasium, children's playspace, replacement McDonalds restaurant and 2 further retail units.
Further refinements to the planning permission were granted in 2011 and the site was sold with the benefit of planning in September 2013 to Essential Living to be developed and held as a residential rental investment.
